CLINICAL PASTORAL EDUCATION

The Perth Community CPE Centre welcomes applications for CPE from all those interested in developing their pastoral/spiritual care skills. In 2023 and 2024 we will be offering part-time CPE, in person in Perth and online.
Expressions of interest and applications are now being accepted.

If you wish to enrol in CPE for credit with the University of Divinity, please read here.
CPE could count as 1/3 of a Graduate Diploma of Pastoral Care at University of Divinity.

Qualifications: ACPEWA Provisional Clinical Pastoral Education Consultant, Bachelor of Theology (distinction), Master of Arts (Theological Studies), Graduate Diploma of Education (distinction). Bachelor of Technology (1st class honours)

I am passionate about helping people form their unique pastoral identity, informed by their understanding of faith, sources of meaning, purpose and connectedness in life and desire to journey with others through difficult circumstances. I utilise an adult education model grounded in theory, research, self-reflection and experience.”

As a Provisional Clinical Pastoral Education Consultant, Helen is also involved in training new Clinical Pastoral Supervisors and Educators throughout Australia and New Zealand.

CPE Semester 1 2024

Placement: Average 10-12 hours/week

Provisional Clinical Pastoral Education Consultant: Helen Vester
Group Work: Mostly Mondays fortnightly : 11/12 March (in person), 25 March, 8, 22 April, 6, 20 May, Tuesday 4 June, 17 June, 1/2 July (in person), 15 July, 2,16 Sept, Tuesday 1 Oct, 14, 28 Oct, 11 Nov, 25/26 Nov (in person).
Note: No group days 22 July – 30 August.
Mode: This CPE group will be conducted with a mix of in-person and Zoom group sessions.
Placement: Average 5.5 hours/week

CPE 2024-2025

Clinical Pastoral Educator: Michelle Benjamin
Group Work: 3 consecutive days/month. No group days in January.
Placement: Average 10 hours/week non group work weeks

Course Details (Part-time)

Facilitator:  Michelle Benjamin or Helen Vester

Dates:            See above.

Group work: We offer a variety of formats to cater to the needs of our clients.

Group size:   A maximum of  6 participants will be accepted in each group.
Up to 8 participants if two facilitators present.

Individual supervision: 10 hours of individual supervision are included

Placement:  200 hours in your own pastoral context, or as arranged by the Perth Community CPE Centre.

Cost:              $2300 comprising a $200 non-refundable acceptance of place fee and
$2100 additional CPE fee.
For participants enrolled through the University of Divinity (UD), UD fees will apply.
FEE Help is available for UD enrolments.

Note:              Credit towards a qualification at another academic institution to be negotiated by the applicant.
